If you look down in the footer, you'll see "CitrusKiwi" (more fully we're CitrusKiwi Web Solutions LLC). We (my wife and I) started CitrusKiwi in 2010 as we saw that small businesses and non-profits weren't getting a fair deal for their online presence. Most USA-based design houses (and we should all support local, right?) charged one-off fees, and wanted a large slice of that action upfront, before you saw anything! Of course, if you offshore, someone from the Philippines, India, Pakistan, or similar will do a site for you, but there's something about using local professionals who are an English phonecall away!
We crafted CitrusKiwi's business model to addres the 3 critical areas we identified as hurting small business. Now ANY business or non-profit can have a custom-designed site, with a custom template, fully hosted and maintained for cheaper than Starbucks 2-3 times a week.
Aerial Survey
I began flying for a St Louis-based survey company in October 2023. What a great job! Since starting, I've flown survey jobs in 20 of the 50 states, seen some beautiful country, and met some great people. It's also exposed me to more new destinations and airports than I could have ever imagined I'd see in my flying career. Some of those airports have provided some flying-skill-sharpening moments - especially the MidWest where the crosswinds are "interesting"!
It's a very fluid job, requiring constant monitoring of weather, and many last-minute destination and hotel changes to adapt to the changing conditions.
